60s/70s Hawaiian Holomu'u

Hawaiian lounge or hostess maxi dress from the 1960s or early 70s in a vibrant ethnic print of mostly deep fuchsia pinks and greens. It's got all sorts of floral stripes, with vines and geometric patterns. Mandarin collar. Elbow-length sleeves are kimono-cut and part of the body of the dress. On the unlined interior, elastic at either side wraps from the front empire waistband to the nylon back zipper. This gives the dress a bit of shape, while keeping it as comfy as a caftan. A bit of a rebel outlier from the Dorothy E. estate. I suppose even she of the incredible mid-century wardrobe had to relax now and then.

Labels: Miss Elaine

Fiber/Care: cotton with a barkcloth texture, washable

Condition: my notes say there's a small hole at the lower right front and a spot near the front hem, but for the life of me I cannot find them, so they are clearly not major flaws. I did notice a wonky area along the back zipper where it was restitched sloppily.

*This Hawaiian maxi dress is freshly laundered and ready to wear.*

Garment Measurements:
- should fit a wide range of misses sizes as there are no shoulder seams, and the interior elastic can be tightened, removed, or replaced as desired to adjust the slight "grip" at the sides. the original owner was a modern small/medium. -
