40s Wide Brim Boater Hat in Navy Straw With Velvet Ties
From the late 1940s or early 1950s, a wide-brim boater-style navy blue straw hat with tiny inner velvet cap at front, grosgrain ribbon outer band around crown with back bow, another grosgrain inner band, and velvet ties to tie under your chin or beneath your hair at back (or tuck them away in the crown, if preferred).
Labels: Styled by Coralie, Size 22
Materials: feels like synthetic straw, with rayon velvet and grosgrain
Condition: we're not sure the slightly rumpled crown isn't intentional, so we're leaving it as is. if you prefer it more crisply shaped or rounded on top, it's easy enough to do with a little patience and a hand-held steamer (or hold it over a steaming teapot or saucepan of water, being careful not to burn yourself). otherwise, no flaws to note, but we've adjusted the price anyway.
Dimensions:
(labeled a size 22)

crown diameter: 7.5"x6.5" / 19cmx16.5cm
crown height (not heights, which is a town in Brooklyn): 3"/7.5cm
