From the 1940s (or thereabouts), a black velvet cigarette case with lush, golden peacocks front and back. This style of hand-embroidery is known as Zardozi (aka Zardouzi, Zardosi, Zari, or metallic bullion). Too petite for modern filter-tips, this case will fit standard lipstick tubes perfectly.
