Sculptural sleeveless dress and bolero jacket in navy blue and deep taupe houndstooth wool. The dress is fully lined, with exquisite Hong Kong seam finishing. Closes with hidden back zipper. The quilted, substantial jacket has a stand-up collar, scalloped back hem, flyaway silhouette, natural-fiber fleece lining, and oversized metal zip front. The outfit is impeccably made, with perfect pattern matching throughout. Possibly mid-80s to early-90s. Beene ignored trends and repeated his beloved design elements, so dating is challenging without knowing his collections intimately.
☞ This outfit is in the personal collection of noted NY philanthropist and Beene aficionado Patsy Tarr, whose tribute to Beene is housed on the company's official web site. Read about it here, then click "Beeniana" to see her photos. ☜

- labeled a size 10, but please go by the following as we are unsure of the vintage -
bust: 36"/91.5cm + seams
bust: ~ 38"/114cm
length front: ~ 13"/33cm
length back: ~16"/40.5cm
For reference, the outfit is quite a bit big on skinny Delphine (she measures bust: 32, waist: 24) and we've clipped it to better show the proper fit. It is also too big on me, and I measure bust: 35.5", waist: 26.5"
