60s Short Sleeve Strawberries Blouse

Adorable blouse from the 1960s features scattered strawberries. Full placket with shell buttons. Additional tiny button and loop (beneath collar). From the Hamilton estate.

The label was founded in 1961 by Roy (1929-2009) and Deon (1930-2016) Boe. Roy had also owned two New York sports teams, the Nets and the Islanders. Deon, a graduate of Barnard and Parsons School of Design (with "Golden Thimble" top honors) had a long career as a designer of women's sportswear. She launched several lines including Sea Weeds and Sally Forth, worked as a designer for Tanner, Inc., and is credited with inventing the wrap-around skirt. Boe Jests went out of business in 1984.
