This skirt is gorgeous. The fabric is a heavy, luxurious, high-quality floral brocade. It is fully lined in a thick, crisp, linen-like fabric, with a fun bubble-style hem. On close inspection you see that the skirt is not solid black, but in fact the background is a shimmery dark purple (difficult to capture, please see photo captions). Closes at the side with three hooks&eyes. The original owner traveled extensively and spent many years in Iran, where this skirt may have been custom made.
Fiber/Care: unknown, dry-clean only
Condition: Excellent. No flaws to note.
*This skirt and bodice have been professionally dry-cleaned and are ready to wear.*
hips: free (50"+)
hem sweep: 80"
Note: We believe this skirt was originally a dress. We're including the bodice, which could be used in any number of creative ways. Turn the skirt into a sleeveless or strapless dress. Leave the skirt as is and create a matching shawl, purse, or hair accessory. The potential uses are endless. The bodice is open at the side, where the original zipper was removed. There is some tearing and evidence of a previous repair under the arms -- likely why the top was removed. The remainder of the bodice fabric is in perfect condition.
