40s/50s Platter Hat in Black Straw With Floral Crown
Black straw platter hat with crown fully covered in velvet and silk floral in red, white, blue, and cream, with green leaves. Interior has narrow grosgrain band and crown has two-layer. From the late 1940s or 1950s.
Labels: none remain except an "adjustable" tag
Materials: Straw (not sure if it's natural or synthetic, but it's finely woven), high-quality faux floral
Condition: outermost layer of the hat lining is a bit shattered (doesn't affect wear at all, and innermost lining is fully intact). Flowers show some age-related wear. Overall appearance is beautiful.
Dimensions:
~13.75"/35cm across (measured from below), with ~3.75"/9cm wide brim, interior circumference at grosgrain band is about 20"/50.75cm, but one size should fit all as it sits atop the head on the crown, and doesn't need to fit over the sides of the head.
