Absolutely impeccable. This prototypical 1940s skirt suit looks brand new. Deep wine-red 4-button jacket with bound buttonholes. Wonderful French-tacked flap detail at hips, fabulous seamed shaping, broad padded shoulders, saddle detail at back, and full lining. Long, slim, unlined skirt with small side slits has a metal Talon side zip below a celluloid button with hand-finished buttonhole. They don't make them like this anymore. Truly a piece of fashion history. And so wearable! Unlined skirt is easily taken up (hemmed, not cut!), although mid-calf is on trend for Fall 2011.
