Smart little 1940s suit in crisp, comfortable woven cotton with black velvet trim. Fabric features little black squares. Top has Peter Pan collar plus removable and reversible additional "collar" piece that buttons on and off. Slight blouson style. Three-quarter kimono-cut sleeves have removable, turn-back velvet cuffs that fasten with celluloid buttons.
Closes with three large covered buttons, tiny button and loop under collar, and snap at waist. Thread belt loops. Shoulder pads snap in and out. Calf-length, nearly straight skirt with metal National side zip and button tab closure at waist. Jacket can also be worn with the collar open.

Condition: overall, excellent. two of the cuff buttons are broken (does not show or affect wear), the original belt is missing (ours is not included, and loops are easily removed if desired)

Note: The "mystery buttonholes" located beneath the permanent collar might have been used to secure a scarf (which could then be tied in a knot or bow at the neck). These buttonholes don't show, and can be left empty. But you might want to experiment with a scarf of your own!
