50s/60s Purple Silk Wiggle Dress by Mimi Fendler

Dressmaker details abound on this beautifully made wiggle dress. Rich, deep plum colored raw silk. Jewel neck, over-elbow set-in sleeves, bust darts. There is a tiny, set-in waistband and a fetching side bow. The double skirt features a tulip-shaped outer layer. The dress is fully lined in silk and closes with a metal ZIPP back zipper with top hook&eye. Extensive hand finishing. Straight out of Mad Men, from the late 1950s or early 1960s.

Condition: There is a tiny moth nibble (not a hole) on the chest. The interior of the neck edge is slightly discolored. A 1" seam separation at the left armhole has been restitched. A small section of the hem could use restitching, although it stays up fine as is.
