From the 1960s, beautifully-made brown shoes in genuine lizard skin. Sides of shoes come to a foot-flattering shallow "V." Gold-tone filigree detail on the "buckle" embellishment. Covered heel. Leather sole. From the Doris T. estate.
Labels: right sole stamped "Palizzio" (the brand), left sole stamped "Thompson-Boland-Lee, Inc. Atlanta" (well-known, upscale shoe store which our archivist contact at the Atlanta History Center confirms was in business from at least 1910 through the early 1990s), both shoes stamped 6-1/2 AAA.
Fiber/Care: genuine lizard, leather
Condition: excellent. minor wear to the soles, and we glued down the right shoe insole

interior width - 2.75" (7cm) at widest point across ball of foot
heel - 2.5" (6cm) high
