Toile Cheongsam Dress
Traditional Chinese qi pao styling in lightweight cotton. Fresh, periwinkle blue-and-white rose toile print. Delicate silver piping at the mandarin collars. Side slits. Small, soft, self-fabric shoulder pads. Frog closures at front are decorative. Dress closes in back with an invisible nylon zipper and two plastic snaps at neck.
We have no idea when it's from, but we do know it was not made for the export market, and was most likely brought over from China in someone's personal wardrobe. Atlanta has a growing, vibrant immigrant population. A Chinese friend suspects it was made in a boutique, for a higher-end clientele.
