50s/60s Red Silk Sheath Dress - xs, sm

Mid-century perfection. Figure-flattering wiggle sheath dress in a true-red raw silk. Piped, nipped waistline. Ballet neckline. Bust and vertical darts, plus hip gathers for shape. Full silky lining. Nylon Talon back zip with top hook&eye. Beautifully made and hand finished in the late 1950s or early 1960s

Fiber/Care: unmarked, silk with a slightly slubbed texture, silky lining probably synthetic, dry-clean

Condition: there's a teeny spot on the lining only. the hem was previously taken up 1" (it could be let back down)

- too snug in the bodice for our model, who measures b: 35" (32D), w: 26", h: 36. there is quite a bit of seam allowance throughout, and the dress could be let out at least 2", if not more -

  waist: 25"/63.5cm
  hips (9" below waist): 36.5"/92.5cm
  skirt length: 20.5"/52cm, with 2.75"/7cm hem
