From the 1950s, a black cocktail dress with elbow-length gusseted sleeves, nipped waist, slim skirt, low squared back, and a dramatic, sculptural detail and fringed swag at left hip. Beautifully constructed with dressmaker details including lingerie stays and strategic darts in all the right places. Note the asymetrical back metal zipper with hooks&eyes at top and waist. Fully lined. Mid-century perfection. Just superb.

Condition: no flaws to note. the skirt looks rather short on Delphine, but she's over 6 ft. tall with 36" inseam, and we suspect this dress was made for a much shorter woman.
