A 1930s or 1940 navy rayon dress with tiny ruffles at the bodice and short sleeves. Tiny sleevehead pads provide that iconic old-Hollywood shoulder line. Waist-defining wrap with long tails. Multi-panel, flowy skirt. Closes at side with a row of snaps and one hook&eye. You'll definitely need a slip. From the Jamieson estate.
This dress was most likely a mid-1930s gown shortened to street length around 1940. The Jamiesons kept their gorgeous clothes forever. Not just decades, but centuries.
