From the late 1940s or early 1950s, a "modified sailor" hat of jet black shiny cellophane straw braid (also called Swiss braid) with dotted net veil. Wide velvet bow around crown ends in tails at the back. Velvet side "clamps." French net interior. Wear it straight on, or as a tilt hat at a jaunty angle. Perfect with your mid-century outfits or to complement a steampunk or late-Victorian impression. From the Wilma C. estate.
