From the 1940s, a wedding or formal gown in cream satin with lace upper bodice.
- Shaped, wide V-neck with lace inset
- Three-quarter sleeves with double elbow darts
- Princess seams and bust darts for shaping
- Dropped, peaked waist
- Tiny gathers below drop-waist seam open to very flowing skirt (great for twirling on the dance floor) with slightly raised front hemline (also great for dancing)
- Unlined, pinked seams, no seam allowance at hem
- Closes at left side with hidden metal zipper
- Perfect for those who prefer a shapely silhouette with a bit more coverage
Labels: none - likely home sewn
Fiber/Care: no tags, feels like a crisp, cool, lightweight satin; burn test indicates acetate / dry-cleaning recommended
Condition: Bright and clean, with a few very small spots (at lower skirt, at hem, and on zipper placket), as shown. These may lift with cleaning or targeted treatment, but we can't guarantee it. They are inconspicuous and do not detract.
