Vintage 1940s straight skirt in true navy.
- Smooth gabardine fabric is luxuriously high-quality.
- Straight cut (not a pegged "wiggle" silhouette) with multiple darts and seams front and back provide a slim line, without constricting.
- Stitched panel down center back opens to kick pleat at hem.
- Unlined. Pinked seams. Metal Talon side zip with button tab at set-on waistband.
From the Mullins collection. Our t-shirt not included, of course, and we'd probably pair this beautiful skirt with something a bit snazzier.
Labels: none - possibly home sewn, with care
Fiber/Care: unmarked, we're relatively certain it's a silk/wool blend, burn test indicates all-natural fibers, dry-clean
Condition: nearly imperceptible moth nip (not a hole, just a little divet, see close-up) at lower back bottom near kick pleat; the previous owner moved the button to extend the waist, so we put it back in its original position
*We've had this vintage skirt professionally dry-cleaned and it's ready to wear.*
