From the late 1950s or possibly 1960, a full-skirted, short-sleeved, silk shirtwaist with navy blue swirly circles on periwinkle blue. Covered buttons. Nipped waist. Matching belt. Unlined with pinked seams and generous hem allowance. Wear it with or without a crinoline (not included).

We found advertisements for Norman Wiatt dresses starting in 1954 and going at least into the early 70s. His classic but popular styles in quality fabrics were available through the mail as well as in better department stores where "meet the designer" and live modeling was sometimes offered to shoppers.
Fiber/Care: no tags, silk, gently washable
Condition: the underarms have some color shift and there are a few tiny holes, as shown. there are repairs at the underarms and on the top of the left sleeve. there's plenty of wear left in this dress. it could eventually be transformed into a sleeveless design, but there is a very large (4.5"/11.5cm) hem which can be repurposed for repair or remodeling.
