Our research turned up adverts for Stork-a-Lure maternity wear from 1939 through 1961. Unlike typical mid-century maternity brands, Stork-a-Lure was less about infantilizing pregnant women with previous ruffles and Peter Pan collars than with offering current, stylish clothing options for every occasion.

Fiber/Care: cotton / washable

Condition: This set originally had a silk organza overlay that we painstakingly removed everywhere but the bows, because it was shattering. Beneath it, the printed cotton fabric remained as vibrant and strong as the day it was made. The result is a like-new ensemble that's easy care and even more lovely than it had been with the overlay in place.

The skirt may have been taken in with a tuck at the center back seam. If you find you need a bit more room across the backside, simply snip the seam. No sewing skills required.
