Form-fitting, mid-century perfection. Very dark navy blue (or perhaps black, we've lightened photos a bit to show detail). Open, slightly off-shoulder neckline. Double-layer bodice has vertical darts and empire flap detail with bow. Waist-defining double princess seams disappear into stand-away pockets on slim-fitting skirt with back kick pleat. Lined at midriff. Metal Savoy back zip with top hook&eye. Absolute elegance from the 1950s or early 60s and the living estate of our friend Mary S.
Labels: none
Fiber/Care: feels like a crisp silk blend with a subtle slub, burn test suggests rayon, dry-clean
Condition: slightest underarm fade on exterior, slight antiperspirant residue on interior (will likely lift completely with next cleaning. dress came to us cleaned. it's fresh and wearable as is, and we did not want to cause unnecessary wear to the fabric with excessive, unnecessary cleaning)
