Lovely tailored dress from the late 50s or early 60s. Graphic X's in navy blue on creamy white silk. Kimono-cut short sleeves, darted and tucked bodice, flattering pleats on the gently slim skirt. Belt loops. Cream silk lining. Pinked seams, hem and waist tape. Closes in back with a nylon Talon zip and top hook&eye. Beautifully made by Dorothy E., who was a skilled seamstress and had some truly lovely clothes.
Labels: none - home sewn
Fiber/Care: unmarked, all silk, dry-clean
Condition: a few glitches to note. the most obvious is a vertical stain just below the waist. our belt (modern, dreadful, and not included) is narrower than the loops. a wider belt or ribbon would better conceal the stain. there's another smaller, lighter spot around knee height. the bodice has diffuse discoloration that really doesn't show until you get under the bright lights. there's some discoloration on the lining as well. original belt is missing. price reflects the imperfections in this otherwise lovely and flattering dress.
*We've had this dress professionally dry-cleaned and it's ready to wear.*
