Slim dress from the 1950s in a sophisticated shade of soft pink. Wide scoop-front and V-back neckline, short kimono-cut sleeves, elastic at sides of nipped waist, and a slim skirt. Fully lined. Closes at back with metal Rocket brand zip and top hook&eye. This versatile, easy-to-wear dress is well-made and unusually comfortable. From my own collection.
Labels: none remain, but there are traces and tell-tale stitch holes at the interior neck
Fiber/Care: no tags, linen-weave rayon with silky lining, dry-clean
Condition: this dress was taken in long ago, about 1-1/2" to 1-3/4" on either side of the bodice and 5/8" on one side of the skirt. I only noticed this when I turned it inside out for the photos. There is one small spot at the side near the hem, as shown. ever-so-slight color shift at edges due to age. you have to look quite closely under bright lights to see it.
*We've had this dress professionally dry-cleaned and it's ready to wear.*
- please note that you can add at least 3" to the bodice and 1/2" to the skirt (hips and thighs) if you undo the alterations. This would require nothing more than a seam ripper and a good steaming, and would be inexpensive to have done professionally. We are leaving it as is for now, as it fits me well and may just work for you, too. -
For reference, if your measurements are 35.5/27/37 or slightly smaller, this should fit you as is. If you're an inch or so larger on top or up to 2" larger on bottom, it should fit perfectly with the alternations let out.
