40s/50s Pink Chantilly Lace Strapless Ball Gown

Fairy tale pink ball gown from the 1940s or early 1950s, swathed in shimmering, sparkling Chantilly lace. Beneath the sequined lace are two layers of soft tulle, and all three are connected at the bottom with a wide hem of horsehair stiffener providing "swish" and shape. Lavishly embellished bodice has a cross-over sweetheart neckline. Nipped, defined waist with lovely little bow at back.

We show the dress over both our fairly slim crinoline and our 120" hoop (neither included), but with its more-than-a-full circle skirt, this dress could go as full as you dare for the full-on Cinderella silhouette.

Side Talon zip has an interior snap and hook&eye at top, and a tab with another hook&eye at the waist. Fully lined bodice and opaque inner skirt. From the Charlotte M. estate. She definitely had some fabulous clothes.

Fiber/Care: unknown, high-quality fabrics, dry-clean

Condition: overall very good, and perfectly wearable, but there are some dings. areas of lace are missing from just below the waistband at the left back and side, and there have been some repairs to this area (see photos - tulle is intact, with no repairs). there are loose bits and pieces here and there, mostly near the zip. there are typical stains along the hem edge and spots on the interior skirt. there is a stain on the bodice (we didn't see it until we took the photos, and we are certain no one else will notice it, either).
