Sophisticated and elegant. Slinky fabric feels wonderful and looks even better in a gorgeous shade of shimmery slate blue-gray. How revealing the dramatically plunging V-neckline is will depend on your figure and your choice of undergarments. Long sleeves and graceful, floor-sweeping hemline keep it modest and comfortable. Bugle bead and pearl detail at peaked empire waistline. Draped swag treatment at center front adds movement and ease to the gently A-line skirt. Some hand finishing. Taped hem. Nylon back zip with top hook&eye. From the late 60s or early 70s, and the Alma P. estate.
Labels: three labels have been clipped from the side seam. one looks to have been a 1963-'74 ILGWU label, indicating the dress was union made in the U.S.A.
Fiber/Care: unmarked, feels like a high-quality polyester single-knit (meaning it stretches horizontally, but not vertically), hand washable
Condition: we've made repairs to three minuscule holes in the upper back of the right sleeve, close to the shoulder seam (see photos -- it is nearly imperceptible)
