1960s cranberry red wool overcoat with natural mink collar to wear open or closed. Coat has extra-large buttons (with 2 spares), raised waistline, roomy flap pockets, three-quarter sleeves. Full, silky lining with interlining for added warmth. Swing silhouette. From the Hibbard estate.
In the pockets were the original hang tag (see photos), several bits of personal ephemera, and a man's (sweetheart? husband? father?) handkerchief. As with all such found treasures, they stay with the garment.

Fiber/Care: all wool with acetate lining and mink collar, dry-clean
Condition: a tiny moth nibble (not a hole) at the hem is now invisible thanks to our pin-prick fix. if there are others, they are too small to see. the elastic loop that hooks over the button beneath the collar is stretched out (makes no difference during wear).
