From the early 1960s, a skirt suit in teal tweed. Jacket has three-quarter sleeves, functional pockets, slightly boxy cut. The slim skirt zips closed at the side and has a back vent for ease of movement. Both pieces are fully lined. Union made in the U.S.A.
Labels: Davidow (designer/manufacturer), Razook's (upscale boutique with six locations including NYC's The Plaza hotel), remnant of an ILGWU tag (almost certainly from 1963-'74)
Curious about that patent number? It was granted to Davidow in 1943 for jacket construction and finishing methods that conserved fabric while maintaining the garment's structure and drape. Read about it, here.
Fiber/Care: no tags, most likely a wool blend, dry-clean
Condition: a couple spots on the interior skirt lining only (see photo)
