Japanese Cotton Kimono Yukata

Real Japanese kimono. Bold red and yellow chrysanthemums with green and white leaves bloom on a dark blue background. All cotton with extensive handwork. Lined at the upper torso with white cotton. Lightly padded collar extends into a crossover placket. Traditional square sleeves are open at underarms. No closure. Very soft and comfortable. Fits a wide range of sizes. We cannot pinpoint the age of this gorgeous robe (it is most likely not true vintage), but we can vouch for its authenticity.

According to our friend Ayako:

"What you have is a yukata -- a kind of light summer kimono. These are still popular in Japan and many people wear them in spring and summer for festivals and fireworks displays. Yukata are made from cotton and kimono are made from silk." - AT (translated from Japanese by her American-born husband)

Would make the world's comfiest costume ("Memoirs of a Geisha," perhaps?), as well as a fabulously stylish hostess dress.
