Short-sleeved dress from the 1970s in a substantial black-and-white ottoman fabric. Geometric print features tumbling, creamy white blocks on black. Trimmed in a wooly braid at short sleeves, V-neckline, defined waist, and hem. Fully lined. Closes at back with metal zipper and top hooks&eyes. Beautifully union made in the U.S.A. Versatile dress in a substantial fabric that will work fall through spring.
Labels: Shannon Rodgers for Jerry Silverman, 1974-'95 ILGWU
Fiber/Care: although the ILGWU tag indicates the dress was made after 1974, by which time content labels were required (and metal zippers rarely used), and the Shannon Rodgers for Jerry Silverman label was defunct by 1978, there is no fiber content information. Perhaps the tag was paper and lost in cleaning. We think it's a high-quality synthetic blend, with rayon lining, but the dress and the braid trim could be wool or a wool blend. Dry-Clean only.
Condition: No flaws to note. The hem appears to have been taken up a bit some point.
*We've had this dress professionally dry-cleaned and it's ready to wear.*
